Organico Sauce and Pasta on Awards Shortlist

Organico, ethical, sustainable and delicious AND free-from-wheat or meat - our sauces and wheat free pasta are shortlisted for an award!

Our sauces and Special Diet pastas are ideal for vegetarians or those on wheat free diets and we are thrilled that two of our products have been recognised in this years Foods Matter Free From Food Awards - they are Wine and Porcini sauce and Rice Pasta.

The Wine and Porcini pasta sauce is deliciously flavoured tomato-based sauce which adds something special to any pasta dish and provides a wheat and meat free alternative.

Meanwhile the Rice pasta from our New Special Diet range is authentically made in Italy using traditional methods and comes in two shapes Gemini and Fusilli. These light-tasting and quick to cook pastas can be used in both traditional pasta dishes but also as a noodle replacement in stir fries and as a side dish. They are ideal for those who cannot eat wheat.

Organico Founder Charles Redfern says: “We have always had a wide range of pasta sauces suitable for vegetarians and those who can’t eat wheat. However we wanted to add to our range with some really spectacular wheat free pastas so we went to an authentic artisan organic Italian producer and found they could use traditional methods to make pastas with non wheat ingredients. We believe they are the best and are glad that we have been recognised by the Free From Awards.”

The Awards will be judged 12th May and announced at a special party by Antony Worral Thompson. Organico Special Diet range includes rice, buckwheat, corn and spelt pastas (spelt not suitable for wheat free diet but some studies show it is easier to digest than wheat). Other Organic vegetarian and wheat free sauces include: Vegetarian Bolognaise, Tomato and Basil, Tomato and Aubergine, Tomato and Zucchini, Olives, Capers and Chilli, Red Pepper and Balsamic Vinegar sauce.
